About

e-620-see-throughI believe that the Olympus E-620 will be an excellent camera for many people.

I am organizing all the information in one place to help my customers decide if the the E-620 is for them.

Also to give a central place to find on going technical support to help them get the best from their cameras.

I am also working on having some basic photography tips to get people to take better pictures. Because the cameras like the Olympus E-620 are so good. Most of the issues that cause poor images can’t be blamed on the camera.

People need to take responsibility for their poor photographs, there are usually only a few things that make all the difference.

So once you are familiar with controlling your camera, I will teach you how to get the best photographs you have ever taken.

I’m glad you set this site up. I’m traveling in Israel for a month with the e620 coupled with a SWD 12-60 lenses. Unfortunately I’ve discovered that this combination with a live view has an achilles heel. Even after talking to a tech rep in the US, he’s not even able to resolve the issues I have with this set-up. The problem has to do with live focus.

This is the set-up I’m using:

1. Aperture Priority
2. WB Auto
3. S-AF
4. 100 ASA
5. Metering ESP
6. Single/Continuous exp.
7. Face Detect Off
8. Illumination Lamp Off

For example I will set up a single point of focus in order to recompose the image. I will press half-way to lock focus/exposure then recompose. However in every attempt using every one of the live modes pressing all the way will force the camera to refocus and expose at the exposure point. When not using Live-View the camera functions normally. I believe I may have discovered an achilles heel and a bad one at that. I consider myself savvy in photography and SLRs, this issue has me frustrated. Please let me know if you are familiar with these issues?

Best,

JonLevi
